Meet Liz O’Donnell
With 30+ years as a senior executive and communications strategist, Liz understands corporate dynamics.
She also knows what it’s like when you get hit unexpectedly with caregiving responsibilities.
As a working mother, she managed. But when her parents were both diagnosed with terminal illnesses on the same day, and her husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness just a few years later, her life changed forever.
After surviving the most difficult years of her life, she realized millions of full-time employees are also caregivers for their parents, adult children, or spouses, and no one was talking about it.
In 2015, Liz founded Working Daughter, the leading resource for working caregivers. She also wrote an award-winning book and created the Best Places to Work for Working Daughters program. She’s been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Atlantic, and many other publications. You may have also seen her on LinkedIn, where she publishes a monthly newsletter on caregiving at work.
She has advised companies such as Apple, Cigna, Transamerica, and others on supporting caregivers through her keynotes and coaching, as well as on creating sustainable, high-impact policies.
